The Czech government has approved a bill submitted by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs regarding an increase of the minimum wages as of January 2018, a year after the previous increase was introduced.
The wages are to rise by 11% from the current CZK 11,000 to CZK 12,200, which will equal 40% of the average wage.
At present, only Lithuania, Latvia, Romania and Bulgaria have lower minimum wage rates than the Czech Republic, while Luxemburg with almost EUR 2,000 (more than CZK 52,000) is on the opposite end of the spectrum.
